Three-quarters Poodle, the curliest coat of any Goldendoodle generation, and the one families with allergies ask us for. Here is what that actually means to live with.
Take an F1 Goldendoodle — half Golden Retriever, half Poodle — and breed her to a Standard Poodle. The puppies from that pairing are F1B. The "B" is for backcross: the litter has been bred back towards one of the two original breeds, which for a Goldendoodle is always the Poodle.
The arithmetic works out at roughly 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. That single fact explains almost everything families notice about an F1B.
Nearly everyone who contacts us specifically about an F1B is asking for one reason: somebody in the house reacts to dogs, or nobody wants hair on the furniture.
The extra Poodle tightens the curl, and a tight curl holds shed hair inside the coat instead of releasing it into the room. Since what triggers most allergic reactions is dander and saliva protein carried on that hair, less hair in the air means fewer symptoms. It is a real effect and it is why the F1B exists.
What we will not tell you is that an F1B is hypoallergenic. No dog is. We have placed F1B puppies with families who had no trouble at all and we would still ask an allergy household to come and sit with our adult dogs for an hour before committing to a decade with one. That hour is free and it is worth more than any promise we could make on a website.
An F1B coat is the curliest of the Goldendoodle generations, and curl and matting are the same property viewed from two sides.
Brushing needs to reach the skin. Most owners brush the top of the coat, which looks fine and does nothing — the mat forms underneath, against the body, where you cannot see it. Two or three proper sessions a week with a slicker brush and a metal comb is the standard. A professional groom every six to eight weeks, for the dog's whole life, is not a luxury.
India adds its own problem. Humidity swells the coat and traps moisture near the skin. After a wet monsoon walk, a coat that is towel-dried on the surface and left is a coat that mats behind the ears and under the collar within days, and damp ears are how ear infections start. If a mat is left long enough the only kind thing to do is clip the coat off and start again.
None of this is a reason not to buy one. It is a reason to know what you are agreeing to. If you would rather do less brushing, an F1 Goldendoodle is the more forgiving coat and we will happily say so.
Three-quarters Poodle shows up in the head as well as the coat. F1Bs tend to be quick, attentive dogs that learn fast and get bored faster — closer to a Standard Poodle in the way they think than to a Golden Retriever. They bond hard to one household and do not enjoy being left alone all day.
Ours are bred from Standard Poodles rather than Miniatures, so expect a full-sized dog: roughly 50 to 60 cm at the shoulder and 20 to 30 kg grown. That is a dog that fits comfortably in an Indian apartment provided it gets one proper walk and something to think about every day, and is miserable in one that gets neither.
We breed F1B Goldendoodles at home in Delhi NCR. The mother lives with us, the puppies are raised underfoot with people and other dogs around all day, and every puppy leaves with its first vaccination, a vet health certificate, and complete records.
We will tell you a puppy's generation before you think to ask. We publish our prices on the price guide rather than quoting on the phone, and we would rather lose a sale than place a curly-coated dog with a family who has not thought about the grooming.

F1B means the puppy has an F1 Goldendoodle parent and a Poodle parent. The B stands for backcross, because the litter has been bred back to one of the original breeds. It works out at roughly three-quarters Poodle and one quarter Golden Retriever.
Very little, and less than any other Goldendoodle generation, but not nothing. The curl holds shed hair in the coat rather than dropping it, which is why you find far less hair around the house. It also means that hair has to be brushed out, or it mats.
They are the best option we breed for a household with mild allergies, because most reactions are to dander and saliva rather than hair, and a curlier coat releases much less of it. We will not promise you a reaction-free dog. If allergies are the deciding factor, come and spend an hour with our adult dogs before you commit.
Ours are bred from Standard Poodles, so a full-grown F1B typically stands around 50 to 60 cm at the shoulder and weighs 20 to 30 kg. The mother's and father's size is the best guide, and you are welcome to meet them.
Brushing two to three times a week, right down to the skin rather than over the top of the coat, and a professional groom every six to eight weeks for life. That is more than an F1 needs. In monsoon months in a coastal city, expect to dry the coat properly after wet walks or you will be dealing with mats and ear trouble.

Yes, and we would rather you did. The mother is here and you are welcome to meet her with the litter. Where the father is our own dog you can meet him too; where he is not, we will tell you plainly whose he is.
Availability changes litter by litter. Whatever we genuinely have is listed on our available puppies page. If a litter is not listed there we do not have it, and we would rather tell you when one is expected than take a deposit against a dog that does not exist yet.
