The sunshine hybrid. Raised in our home, health-checked by a vet, and placed with families across Chennai. Standard Poodles and Goldendoodles are our speciality — and we would rather you met the mother than took our word for anything. Read more about the Goldendoodle breed — size, temperament, coat and health. We breed F1B and F1 golden doodle litters — the difference is here.

Goldendoodles are asked about constantly in Chennai. They can live here well, but the coat has to be kept short and the day has to be air-conditioned.
Chennai is the hardest climate on this list and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. It is hot and humid for most of the year, the sea air carries salt, and the north-east monsoon arrives in October rather than June. None of this makes a Poodle or a Goldendoodle a bad idea here — plenty of ours live in Chennai perfectly happily — but it does mean the coat gets kept shorter, the walks move to dawn and after dark, and the flat needs to be cool during the day.
We have placed puppies across Adyar, Besant Nagar, Anna Nagar, Nungambakkam, Velachery, OMR and Alwarpet. Air-conditioning is not a luxury here, it is part of owning this breed in this city. If the flat is shut up and hot through the working day, that is worth solving before the puppy arrives rather than after.
Short all year. A full Goldendoodle coat through a Chennai May is not something we would put a dog through.
Ask your groomer for a short summer clip and keep it that way from March through September. A full-length coat in Chennai is a welfare problem, not a style choice. Expect ₹1,500–3,000 a session, and plan on every six weeks rather than every eight.
Besant Nagar beach and the Theosophical Society gardens, early morning or well after sunset.
From Delhi it is an accompanied flight of about two and three-quarter hours, cabin only. We time Chennai arrivals for the evening so the puppy is not handed over in the middle of the day. How delivery works across India →
Chennai combines sustained heat with coastal humidity, which is the toughest combination for a heavy coat. Both breeds live very well here — but with air conditioning or good cross-ventilation during the day and a genuinely disciplined walking schedule: before 6:30am and after 7pm from March to October. Keep the coat clipped shorter than you would in Delhi. Watch for ear infections, which humidity makes far more common in drop-eared dogs.
Chennai's doodle and poodle community is smaller than Bangalore's but well established, and the city has several excellent veterinary practices with real experience of coat and skin conditions in humid heat.
These are the coats and types buyers ask us for most often. Availability varies litter to litter — tell us what you are hoping for and we will be honest about the wait rather than promise you a colour we do not have.
Golden Retriever crossed directly with a Standard Poodle. Wavier coat, sheds a little. How the generations differ.
An F1 crossed back to a Poodle. Curlier and the most reliably low-shedding option. More on F1B.
The full-size dog, 20–30 kg, from a Standard Poodle parent. This is what we breed.
The colour most people picture when they say Goldendoodle. Warm gold through to deep apricot.
Darker mahogany, usually from a red Poodle parent. Striking and less common.
Pale gold to near-white. Often what buyers mean by an “English cream” Goldendoodle.
Brown throughout, from a chocolate Poodle parent. Rare in India.
Two-tone white-and-colour, inherited from a Parti Poodle parent.
On sizes: “mini”, “petite” and “medium” Goldendoodles come from Toy or Miniature Poodle parents rather than Standards. We breed the Standard size, so if you have your heart set on a mini we will tell you honestly that it is not what we raise. And remember that no Goldendoodle can be KCI registered — it is a crossbreed, not a recognised breed.
Real numbers, published openly. Most sellers quote a range so wide it tells you nothing — these are what we actually charge in Chennai.
Healthy, well-socialised family companion from health-checked parents.
K9 pedigree papers and microchip, documented parentage, complete health and vaccination records.
From titled Golden Retriever and Poodle lines. Health-tested parents.
Prices reflect lineage, colour and registration. They do not change based on how keen you seem. If a quote elsewhere is dramatically below this range, ask why.

Standard Poodles, Toy Poodles and Goldendoodles are what we breed ourselves, and they are the only dogs on this site we can speak about from our own experience. If you are set on something else, tell us — we know a small number of breeders around India personally and can sometimes arrange it for Chennai. We will always say plainly which puppies are ours and which are not, and if we cannot source something responsibly we will tell you so rather than find you one anyway.

This applies whether you buy from us or from anybody else.
Heat is the question to ask any Chennai seller. A breeder who does not raise the climate with you unprompted — coat length, walk timing, cooling — either has not thought about it or is not planning to be around after the sale.
In person if you are near us, on a live video call if you are in Chennai. A recorded clip is not the same thing. A seller who will not show you the dam is hiding something.
Puppies raised inside a home are socialised to voices, doors and traffic before they ever reach you. Ask to see the actual room.
Parent health records, the vaccination and deworming card, a vet certificate. A real breeder has these ready without being chased.
Ask your groomer for a short summer clip and keep it that way from March through September. A full-length coat in Chennai is a welfare problem, not a style choice. Expect ₹1,500–3,000 a session, and plan on every six weeks rather than every eight. Find them before the puppy arrives, not after the first mat.
Pressure to pay today, or any colour you name available immediately, are both warning signs. Good litters have waiting lists.
Your breeder should take your call two years later. From Chennai that call is the same number you are given today.
They can, with the coat kept short year-round and the walks moved to dawn and after sunset. The Retriever half brings a denser undercoat than a pure Poodle, which is the part that traps heat — so if you are choosing between generations for Chennai, the curlier F1B is usually the more comfortable dog.
A health-checked, home-raised Goldendoodle puppy in Chennai ranges from ₹75,000 to ₹2,75,000. Price depends on lineage, colour and whether the puppy comes with K9 pedigree papers and a microchip. Every puppy includes vaccination records, a deworming schedule, a vet health certificate and lifetime breeder support. We publish real numbers rather than a vague range — WhatsApp +91 92119 10059 for what is available today.
Doodle & Poodle breeds Standard Poodles and Goldendoodles only, and places puppies with families across Chennai including Adyar, Besant Nagar, Anna Nagar, T. Nagar. We are a small home-based breeder, not a pet shop or a listing marketplace. You are welcome to meet the parent dogs before deciding. See our dogs on Instagram at @standard_poodle_india.
Yes, though there are far more resellers than breeders. A genuine Goldendoodle breeder in Chennai will let you meet the mother, show you where the litter is raised, provide parent health records, and will ask you as many questions as you ask them. Anyone who has every breed available at all times is sourcing, not breeding.

Brush 2–3 times a week and book professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. The coat changes texture between 8 and 14 months — brushing frequency needs to go up during that transition or it will mat.
Yes. Every puppy leaves with its first vaccination and deworming complete, a vet health certificate and a written booster schedule. Parent health records are available on request — please do ask, and be wary of any breeder who will not show you them.
Climate-controlled travel with updates throughout. We schedule Chennai arrivals for cooler months wherever possible. We do not travel puppies in extreme heat or during severe weather; the puppy's welfare sets the schedule, not the sale.
Yes. We place puppies right across Chennai, including Adyar, Besant Nagar, Anna Nagar, T. Nagar, Velachery, OMR, Nungambakkam, Porur, ECR. Delivery within the city is arranged personally.
Yes, and we would encourage it. Our dams and sires live with us as family dogs. In Delhi NCR you can visit in person; for other cities we arrange a live video call so you can see the mother, the litter and where they are being raised.
A Goldendoodle is a crossbreed, so it cannot be KCI registered — the Kennel Club of India only registers recognised breeds, and anyone offering you KCI papers for a Goldendoodle is selling you something that does not exist. What we can provide is K9 pedigree papers and a microchip, alongside the vet health certificate and complete vaccination records that come with every puppy. Our Poodles, being a recognised breed, do carry KCI registration.
Budget roughly ₹6,000–₹12,000 a month in Chennai: quality food ₹3,000–₹6,000, professional grooming every 6–8 weeks at ₹1,500–₹3,000 per session, plus routine vet care. Grooming is the cost most first-time owners underestimate — with these coats it is not optional.
A vet health certificate, complete vaccination and deworming records, a written feeding and care plan, parent health documentation, and KCI papers where applicable.
Standard Poodles and Goldendoodles are our speciality — they are what we breed ourselves. If you are looking for a different breed in Chennai, tell us: we work with a small network of breeders across India whom we know personally and can often arrange it. We will always be clear about which puppies are ours and which come through our network, and the same standards apply either way — health records, complete vaccination, and a breeder you can actually speak to.
Yes. From Delhi it is an accompanied flight of about two and three-quarter hours, cabin only. We time Chennai arrivals for the evening so the puppy is not handed over in the middle of the day. We do not use cargo and we do not hand puppies to agents. Travel beyond Delhi NCR is charged at actual cost with nothing added on top, and we tell you the figure before anything is booked.
