Parti is a two-tone coat: white with solid patches of colour, and no two dogs carry it the same way. It is the pattern we are asked about most and the hardest to judge from a photograph, so here are ours moving around. Real footage, our own dogs, nothing borrowed.
Parti puppies are not always available. If the coat is what you are after, tell us and we will let you know when a litter is due rather than talk you into something else.

If a seller calls an abstract dog a Parti and prices it as rare, that is worth knowing before you pay.
A Parti is at least fifty percent white with solid patches of a second colour. It is a coat pattern, not a separate breed or a cross. A Parti Standard Poodle is a Standard Poodle, with the same size, temperament and health profile as a solid one.
Yes. The pattern comes from a recessive gene that both parents must carry. It was out of fashion in the show ring for decades, which is why some people wrongly assume a Parti must be a mix. It can be KCI registered like any other Poodle.
Parti is large blocks of white and colour, roughly half and half. Phantom is a solid base with tan points above the eyes, on the muzzle, chest and legs, like a Dobermann pattern. Abstract or mismark is a mostly solid dog with small white flashes, usually on the chest or toes, and is not a true Parti.
Somewhat, because the pattern needs both parents to carry the gene and litters are less predictable. The premium should be modest. Anyone charging double for colour alone is selling scarcity, not a better dog.
The white and coloured areas stay roughly where they are, but the coloured patches often lighten over the first two years, particularly on apricot and red. What you see at eight weeks is the map, not the final shade.

Parti is not a colour. It is a pattern — a white base with solid patches of a second colour laid over it — and it behaves quite differently from the solid apricot, red, black or silver you see in most litters.
The pattern is recessive. Both parents have to carry it for Parti puppies to appear, and two solid-coated dogs can produce a Parti litter if both happen to carry the gene without showing it. That is the whole reason Parti puppies are hard to find in India: it takes two carriers in the same pairing, and most breeders are not tracking it.
It is also why nobody can promise you a Parti puppy to order. We can tell you which of our pairings might throw one and roughly when the litter is due. We cannot tell you how many, or what the patches will look like, until they arrive.
The white stays where it is. The coloured patches usually lighten over the first two years, particularly on apricot and red — a puppy that looks deep red at eight weeks may finish as a warm apricot. The map you see at eight weeks is reliable. The shade is not.

Coat pattern on its own does not change our price. A Parti puppy sits in the same tier as any other puppy from the same pairing, and what moves the number is lineage, registration and documentation — not how rare the coat looks in a photograph.

That is a deliberate position and not the norm. Parti is fashionable enough in India that some sellers quote a premium purely for the pattern. If you are being asked to pay significantly more for patches, ask what else is different about the dog.
