That includes all eight North-East states: Assam (Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar), Meghalaya (Shillong), Manipur (Imphal), Tripura (Agartala), Mizoram (Aizawl), Nagaland (Kohima, Dimapur), Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar) and Sikkim (Gangtok). Anywhere else in these states is usually possible too; send us your pin code and we will work out the journey.

How your puppy reaches the North-East

Guwahati is an accompanied flight, and it is the hub for most of the region. Shillong is a road journey up into the hills from Guwahati. Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Silchar have their own airports, and Tezpur is a drive from Guwahati.

For the other states we plan each delivery individually rather than promise a schedule: Imphal, Kohima and Dimapur, Aizawl and Itanagar are routed via Guwahati, Agartala via Guwahati or Kolkata, and Gangtok via Bagdogra. Journey length matters for a young puppy, so for the longest routes we may suggest waiting a week or two for a slightly older puppy. If we do not think a journey is fair on the dog, we will say so.

First you meet the mother, at our home or on a live video call; then we fix the travel plan and its cost together. For long journeys we sometimes suggest waiting until the puppy is a little older than eight weeks. More on how this works on our delivery across India page.

the North-East's weather and a curly coat

Assam's plains are among the wettest places in India, with a long, heavy monsoon. For a non-shedding coat that holds moisture, that means a shorter clip through the rains, drying the dog properly every time, and weekly ear checks.

The hill capitals are kinder. Shillong, Kohima, Aizawl and Gangtok are cool for most of the year, and the coolness suits a Poodle coat. The rain still means grooming, but heat is rarely a problem.

Which breed suits the North-East?

For Guwahati and the Assam plains, a Toy Poodle or an F1 Goldendoodle is the most manageable coat. In Shillong, Gangtok and the other hill towns, a Standard Poodle can keep a fuller coat and is very comfortable.

Do you deliver Poodle and Goldendoodle puppies to Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Jorhat?

Yes. We deliver across the North-East, including Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Tezpur, Shillong, Agartala, Imphal, Dimapur, Kohima, Aizawl, Itanagar and Gangtok. The puppy is handed to you in person, with its vet certificate, vaccination card and papers.

How does a puppy travel from Delhi to the North-East?

By accompanied flight to Guwahati, then on by road or a connecting flight. Shillong is a drive from Guwahati; Imphal, Kohima, Aizawl and Itanagar are routed via Guwahati; Agartala via Guwahati or Kolkata; Gangtok via Bagdogra. We plan each one individually.

Is the weather in the North-East suitable for a Poodle or Goldendoodle?

Yes, with grooming discipline in the Assam plains, where the monsoon is long and wet. The hill capitals are cool and very comfortable for a Poodle coat.

Are puppy prices higher in the North-East?

No. Our prices are the same everywhere in India: Toy Poodle from ₹45,000, Goldendoodle from ₹75,000 and Standard Poodle from ₹85,000. Delivery to Guwahati and the rest of the North-East is charged at the actual travel cost, with no markup, and we tell you the figure before you commit.

Can I see the puppy and its mother before it comes to Guwahati?

Yes. You are welcome to visit our home in Delhi by appointment, or we do an unedited live video call with the mother and the litter. We do not place a puppy with anyone who has not seen its mother.

Can a puppy travel all the way to Imphal, Aizawl or Itanagar?

Usually yes, routed via Guwahati and planned case by case. For the longest journeys we sometimes suggest waiting a little for an older puppy, and we tell you plainly if we think a route is too much for the dog.
