For the coast, we fly with the puppy into Bhubaneswar. Cuttack and Puri are a short drive from there, and Berhampur in the south and Balasore in the north are longer road journeys that we plan with you.

Western Odisha is easier through Jharsuguda's airport, which is close to Sambalpur and on the way to Rourkela. Angul sits between the two routes, and we use whichever suits the flights that day. You know the route and the cost before anything is booked.

Odisha's weather and a curly coat

Coastal Odisha, from Balasore through Bhubaneswar and Puri to Berhampur, is humid for much of the year, with a heavy monsoon and a cyclone season along the coast in October and November. Humidity is what a curly coat struggles with, so plan a shorter clip and thorough drying.

The west is different: Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Rourkela are drier but very hot in May and June. There, walk timing matters more than coat length. Walk early, walk late, and keep fresh water and shade available through the day.

Which breed suits Odisha?
