How your puppy reaches Rajasthan

Bhiwadi and Alwar are close to Delhi, and Jaipur is about five hours by road. Ajmer and Sikar are a road journey on from Jaipur, and Kota is a longer drive south. All of these we deliver by car, with the puppy beside us.

Jodhpur, Udaipur and Bikaner are far enough that we discuss each one individually: a long drive broken into sensible stages, or an accompanied flight into Jodhpur or Udaipur. Bhilwara and Sri Ganganagar we plan the same way. You know the route and the cost before you commit.

Rajasthan's weather and a curly coat

Rajasthan's challenge is extreme dry heat. From April to June, afternoons in Jaipur, Kota and Jodhpur can pass 45°C, and in the western desert even higher. A curly coat actually copes better with dry heat than with humidity, but walk timing becomes everything: before 7 in the morning and after sunset.

Never shave a Poodle to the skin for summer; the coat shields it from the sun. Keep a medium clip, fresh water and a cool floor indoors. Winter nights in the desert can be cold, so let the coat grow back from November.

Which breed suits Rajasthan?

A house in Jaipur or Udaipur with a shaded garden suits a Standard Poodle or a Goldendoodle. For a flat, or for the hottest desert towns, a Toy Poodle is the easier dog to keep cool indoors.

Yes. You are welcome to visit our home in Delhi by appointment, or we do an unedited live video call with the mother and the litter. We do not place a puppy with anyone who has not seen its mother.

Is a Poodle all right in the heat of Jodhpur or Bikaner?

Yes, if you plan around the heat. Dry heat is easier on a curly coat than humidity, but walks must be very early or after sunset in summer, the coat should never be shaved to the skin, and the dog needs a cool place indoors.
